Why photography?
I was adopted (fun fact!) and I grew up in what was called a “closed adoption”. In my case, I was not legally allowed access to my photos or information from before my adoption until I turned 18. My life before being adopted at the age of 8 only existed in faded memories. I grew up feeling like a piece of me was missing.
After I turned 18 I finally had access to those photos from before I was adopted. Seeing what I looked like as a baby, a toddler, and just growing up was such an emotional experience for me (I definitely cried… many times). Only then, did I feel that missing piece inside me was finally filled. It seemed all the questions I had were answered in those precious photos.
This experience helped me understand how PRECIOUS your photographs in life are. I strive to capture memories in the same way so that no one else feels that unexplainable missing piece.

• I love getting outdoors hiking, climbing, and camping!
• I have a cat named Sweetie.
• I have three sisters and two brothers.
• I am adopted - which is part of the reason I chose photographing weddings as my path.
• I am a member of the Calgary Professional Videographer's Association.
• Chai tea is my tea drink of choice.
